Well, the posts have been slowing down since school has started. I promise I'll try my best to get more info up. As for now, here is some Anna & Daddy love (while preparing for a Cat 4 hurricane. sweet.) Mommy side note: I have a lovely child in my class this year who repeatedly tells me that he's the boss, by looking in my eyes and sternly saying "I'm the boss!". Let the year begin kid!

Well....
we made it! Greg and I got up this morning at 6:15 expecting Anna to get up soon so we could get ready for the first day of school. Any today is the day she decides to sleep in. She finally woke up at 7:00 right as Greg was getting ready to leave. After giving him kisses, we came in and got dressed for school. Said our good-byes to Sydney (tear tear, it was almost as hard leaving Sydney this morning, she didn't know what was coming.....a whole day by herself!). We got in the car and drove to Anna's new school. When we got there Anna walked to her room but as soon as she saw the kids and her room she hugged my leg and started to back out of the room. Great! I was about to lose it and now she didn't want to go in! I then walked her over to the bridge that is in her room and the toys and she went and picked one out. I knew if I stayed any longer I would start to cry and she would come back for me, so I said thanks to her teacher Angie and left. I just made it out of the front door and lost it. Sobbed the whole way to school. The day was OK, but I'm lucky I didn't get a ticket on the way home speeding to get Anna. I was the happiest mother in the world going in to pick her up, I just couldn't wait. She was on the playground with the other kids and was playing in a car, just like last year. Her other teacher Jennifer said she had a great day. The only time she cried was when she woke up from her nap. They want all kids to stay on their cots and read books until nap time is over and Anna didn't want to stay on her cot. No bad, she'll learn. Other than that, super! Her daily report said that she ate all her breakfast, all her lunch (chicken and pastry, yum!), no peas, but all her applesauce and ate all her goldfish snack. What a great eater. I know she's well taken care of and having a lot of fun with her teachers and new friends. Tomorrow I'm going to try and not cry, we'll see how that goes.

Great beach day
We were lucky today to get to go to Carolina Beach with some friends. Chris has 4-wheel drive and can drive out on the beach so we packed up the car and headed out for the day. I got to do some surfing!
Anna dug some holes.
Charlie, their dog, came along too. Anna LOVES big dogs.
Here are the boys getting everything packed up.
Sweetness!
Sydney had a blast and even went swimming in the ocean and rode some waves to shore.
Hanging out with our awesome set up .

Last few weeks of summer...
We've been busy the last few weeks. We had Aimee's surprise bridal shower, though it wasn't such a surprise because she's nosey! But it was a great great weekend. Here we are in VA trying to attach some luggage to the top of Mom's car because everything inside was already packed to the max. Our womanly engineering worked perfect!
On our way up to DE and then back home Anna became best friends with Mindee aka "Mim-mee". She just LOVED Mim-mee and wanted to do everything with her. Mindee was a life saver in the car with books, games and super cool drumming videos. Anna even got to ride front facing for the trip, lucky girl, but now it's back to rear facing until she's 2.
While we were in VA we found this super cute clothing store and bought Anna all her goodies for the wedding in October. Here is the super cute dress we found for 40% off
Here are the socks and shoes to go with it, though we might switch to tights. Anna loved tapping around in them. In addition to the dress, socks and shoes, we also got ruffled undies and a little pearl bracelet. She's not too fond of the bracelet, we'll keep working at it for October.
After returning home, it was back to the usual mischief, Tuesday's fun was writing all over her feet with a pen. Super.
Wednesday Anna found a ball of chap stick and I opened it for her and showed her how to use it. After I look away and back again, she's eating it. So I tried twisting it back together and telling her it was stuck and not going to open again. She did not like that! So I had to think of something else, since I never use it anyways, I opened the chap stick and cleaned it all out. This way I can give it to her and she doesn't know the difference and in this pic she's practicing putting chapstick on her baby doll.
Greg stopped his summer job a few days early so we could have some family time before school starts on Wednesday. We decided to take a trip down towards Sunset Beach and Ocean Isle for the day. It was a nice ride down and we found this cute little Deli where we stopped for lunch and had some delicious sandwiches and Anna ate the largest hot dog in the world. After lunch we drove over the bridge to the beach and spent the day enjoying the sun, sand and very warm ocean water.
This afternoon we went over to Jamie and Donna's house to swim in their new pool that Jamie and Greg put up, go boys! Here is Anna giving love to Jake. We've talked and Jake it the only boyfriend that Anna will be allowed to have. They'll be a grade apart but that's OK.
After a great swim and delicious dinner, the Daddy's gave the kiddo's a bath. Anna enjoyed Jake's bathtub MUCH more than hers. I think we need to get some more toys for ours.
And lastly, here is Anna with her new swimmies on!!!! Greg and I were so proud of her and her swimming. She is SUCH a big girl. Love her to pieces.
Anna starts a new daycare on Wednesday. We are going to go on Tuesday morning and meet her new teachers and get her all set up. I'll let you know how it goes. Wednesday morning I will be a complete mess as I was last August as we begin to part ways each morning. It has been the best summer I could have asked for.
