Fun-fill day 2

So this whole suite thing is great but also has its drawbacks- since every suite has a kitchen, if you have neighbors the cooking smell comes right through and stinks up your room. Of course we had some stinky cooking next to us, so we went down and asked to have our rooms switched, moved all of our stuff up to the 3rd floor at bedtime and we have been good so far. Our new suite had a king bed versus the 2 queens we were originally in, so last night was a bumpy sleep - I slept with the kids in the king bed and Greg slept on the pull out sofa. It wasn't too bad except for worrying about Anna falling out and her constantly kicking and moving next to Quinn. We all made it to about 7:00 this morning and were then yawning by 8:00 as we headed to breakfast. We ate breakfast at the hotel then headed off to the zoo. The weather was perfect today and we had a blast - there were some new exhibits as well as play areas for the kids.

Greg spoiling them with huge ice cream cones doused in sprinkles - oh my!

This was one of the new play areas -  a lot of water, tree houses to climb and a outside kitchen to play in. And another day with the shirt coming off.

We took a tram back to our car and Quinn was in bliss because we called it a train. On the way back from the zoo, everyone slept, including Greg. When we got back to the hotel it was pool time and guess who swam with no swimmies?!?! Anna Caroline! Go girl! After swimming we headed to dinner at a BBQ joint where we all cleared our plates because of a busy day. Aaaaaand just in-case the kiddos weren't tired enough yet, we took them to a nearby park to really tire them out!

Family vaca day 1

We left this morning in hopes for a fun day exploring the Raleigh/Cary area and we had a great time! First we drove to Lake Johnson and rented canoes and explored the lake for the morning. We took a break and hiked in the woods and had a beautiful view. Then we ate lunch at the lake but the ducks/geese were staring at us the whole time.

Then we drove to Pullen Park for some afternoon fun. Pullen Park has A LOT to do for kids. We went on a train ride and a carousel ride then played at the 5 different playgrounds. Quinn enjoye the sand/water playground and Anna just liked finding kids to play with. And as usual Quinn became the shirtless wonder- at least he kept his bottoms on.

Next we checked into the hotel and went swimming in the pool- we have some serious water lovers on our hand, it was hrs getting them out after an hour of swimming. Greg and I splurged on a suite this vacation and it is totally worth it! We are currently in the living room right now watching tv while the kids are sleeping in the bedroom. And we ended our first day with Sweet Tomatoes for dinner - our favorite vacation spot.

Tomorrow we head to the zoo!

Birthday Party

We celebrated Quinn's birthday a day early today.
More pictures of our official 2 year old tomorrow.

Little 2 year old

Tour de Blueberry

For the past two years we have done the Tour de Blueberry race in Burgaw at the end of June for the Blueberry Festival, but Greg had to work this year, so I decided we should still do it, we just opted for the shorter route of 9.4 versus the 13 in previous years.

The kids did great, we got up early, had breakfast in the car, stopped at the gas station to pump up all the tires and then headed out to Burgaw. It was a beautiful morning.

These kids were heavy to pull! Next year one of them will be riding on their own!

And then we headed to the festival for our annual blueberry ice cream treat. Yum!

Anna's Story Telling

Silence?

Pretty positive our house has ever been this silent before-- we went to gymnastics this morning for open gym & just finished lunch, now both kids are doing their own thing and it's been super quiet in the house for at least 15 minutes now...foreign territory, I'm afraid to make a move so I'm just sitting here on the computer as to not disturb the peace

Still quiet, but I have a feeling not for long...
