When Anna comes out of her room each morning she always shuts her down behind her and then runs across the wood floor to our room. Well Christmas morning at 6:45 we heard the door shut then the running footsteps but then the footsteps stopped, we waited for a minute, then "MAMA! MAMA!!! Santa came!!!! He brought presents!!!!!!" Greg told her to find her stocking and come on in. She ran to the fireplace, got her stocking and jumped in bed with us. Before she started dumping it out she told us that all the cookies and broccoli were gone and that Rudolf and his sister drank all the water. Then it was time to dive into the stocking. So many cool things and by 6:52 we were eating tootsie-rolls and Reese's peanut butter cups! Anna's favorite part was her Rudolf chap stick.
We then went to the living room and made a fire, put the monkey bread in the oven, made some coffee, watched some cartoons and patiently waited for Quinn to wake up, Anna was such a good girl, but then we finally said, forget it Anna, lets get started, Quinn will catch up when we wakes, so here's Anna diving into her first present and just as we suspected she wanted to play with it rather than opening up more. This is how the entire morning continued, which is nice because it went slow and she appreciated every gift instead of just tearing open everything.
Princess books, princess dolls, princess dress up clothes, you name it!
Nanny, Nonny & Aunt Kay got to Skype in with us on Christmas morning and watch all the excitement too.
Anna: "Oh! I've been waiting for this!"
She was SO happy to get her teddy bear, this was the only thing she kept mentioning when we talked about Santa bringing gifts, surely Santa wouldn't let a happy face like that down. So cute!
Greg & I: "Anna, what do you think this is?"
Anna: "I think it might be a bicycle"
Hooray, for a big girl scooter.
The aftermath.
Around 10 we packed up and headed for Gram & Pop's to see what Santa dropped off there.
Pink sparkly shoes, princess slippers,
her own camera, and a ton of other stuff
Quinn's big boy football
and dump truck
Anna reading a princess on Pop's new iPad
And there's our happy boy!
It was a perfect, perfect Christmas. We couldn't ask for anything more.
Very blessed and lucky to have what we have and the time to spend with family, both far and near.
