Every week...

it's something new with this little one....

Here she is insistent upon wearing daddy's hat and doing daddy's measurements to work on our bedroom and shortly after, making her trip to "the carpet story" AKA Lowes.  The only way you get to go to Lowes alone is to tell her you're going to work, otherwise, she is at the front door ready to go. Last night Greg went and Anna wasn't done with her dinner yet, man! that was the fastest she ever put back some chicken, so she could go to the carpet store with Daddy.

Hot mess in the corner reading books. So much for all her Christmas toys, which by the way, I fully intend on wrapping for her birthday.

Yesterday as I picked Anna up from school, I couldn't find her on the playground. I saw a little girl with a shirt on just like Anna's but I thought it couldn't be her because he hair was up in pigtails. Well, obviously it was Anna! Jennifer did her hair that day. Another little girl in her class asked to have it done I guess, then a few boys jumped in line and finally Anna said "My turn!" and as soon as I got there she was screaming at me to look at her hair, "Mommy hair!!!! Mommy hair!!!!" Greg tried to get the best pictures he could but Anna was not cooperating so hopefully you can see how cute she is!

Here's our newest pic of Little Law. 14 cm long, 1/2 a pound. Mom knows what the gender is...again! But we don't! Stinkin' cute. Anna is insistent that it is a cow. We've tried to put it next to my belly and tell her it's her sister or brother, baby, you name it, but after everything we say, she says, "Cow!". So be it.

Other happenings...
Anna now uses the phrase "for 1 minute?" "for 4 minute?" when she wants to play. But actually, it works most of the time, I'll tell her 5 minutes until bath and then there's never a fit because she knows it's coming up.

She sings spontaneously. Super cute, hard to get on tape though.
After dinner she now asks, "Wa-uh news...hoppin werl" which means, "Watch the news to see what's happening in the world". Greg and I watch the news at 6:30 and she usually does too since we're not playing with her and we tell her why, so we can find out what's happening in the world. So she started saying it after dinner because she knows it's coming on.

And her newest obsession....
MONKEY GEORGE!!!!!

Silly

Anna is sitting on the tack board for the carpet and doesn't feel a thing in her tush because she has cloth diapers on! Ha! I knew cloth was good for something else besides the environment.

Last night Anna comes running in the room from somewhere and shouts, "I fast! I funny!"

She can sing the whole 'Santa Clause is coming to town' song, super cute.

At Lowes this morning she was telling the old man behind us in line that she has chips at home.

So sweet

We just finished lunch and came into the computer room to make the bed, check e-mail, etc. Anna found her blanket, laid down and when I turned around I saw this...
How stinkin' cute!
I woke her up and told her I'm going to put you in your bed where it's comfy and all she kept saying was, "no no seep banket, four" (sleep with blanket on floor). She's passed out in her bed right now. :)

Law Happenings...

Daddy is working on closing off our wall which used to be a door. Dad helped him over the weekend and Greg is finishing up. Mom and Dad bought us carpet for Christmas so we have to get the room all ready before the new carpet it put down. The door was the first item on the list. Over the next few weekends we are going to paint and redo the baseboards.

While Daddy was working, Anna was working on her coloring on the wall and then she moved onto the doors. Here she is scrubbing it all off.

And playing with Sydney in the backyard.....

And Mommy went to the doctor to get the baby checked. Little Law is good, 16 weeks big, moving all around but I still can't feel it. We are going back in 2 weeks to get our anatomy scan. Excited to see the little bit on the screen.

Other Anna News...
- We  argued this morning about the color of her jacket. She was insistent that it was blue, but it was a pink jacket. I said, do you want to wear your pink jacket? No...boo jacket. It's a pink jacket Anna. No boo! It's pink. Boo! We ended up choosing the brown jacket.
- We are sitting on the potty and pretending to pee, but nothing is happening yet. Last night we put panties on for about 20 minutes just for fun and she liked them. Super cute! This morning she wanted them back on so it was a struggle to get the diaper back on. Nanny sent a cool Elmo potty book in the mail so maybe that'll help get the ball rolling.

Florida

Well we got an e-mail from the GG"s letting us know that we were welcome to come to Florida if we had nothing to do this last week, and of course we didn't do into the car we went. Anna is teh perfect traveler. We were really worried that 12-13 hours would not work but it did! Makes us want to take longer trips now.

Spending some quality time with GGPop reading her fav Elmo book.

Ready for the sunshine with her hot pink glasses. The mail man came while we were outside playing so Anna is delivering a package to the GG's.

Greg standing next to one of  the biggest Banyan tree in the world.

Hanging with GG on the bench. Anna was determined to have GG wear her glasses since Anna had hers on.

One morning, Daddy treated us to Dunkin Donuts. Anna ate the top frosted part of the donut and then was "All done"

This is after the donut, eating a second breakfast with GG.

Looking at manatees with GG.

Looking at ducks, turtles and fish with GG.

We were surprised Anna actually got this close to the pretend alligator, but still didn't want to touch it.

Walking through the park with her GG's. What a lucky girl to have great grandparents.

Poppy ready for a boat ride.

Anna and her "backpack" on for the boat ride.

Being silly running around GG"s house.

It was am awesome visit, just what the Law family needed. The GG's also had an orange tree which Anna frequented often to pick fresh oranges. Yum!

Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas weekend we had with family. Aim & Chris came down  on Thursday with Chris' parents and we enjoyed 3 full days of fun!

Christmas Morning!

Thomas train set from Nanny & Nonny

Playing Legos with Uncle Chris. Anna just loooooooves Uncle Chris. Anna had to play with every toy after she opened it. Needless to say, presents took well into the afternoon to finish.

Sydney and her Christmas bones and Kona trying to steal them. Ha!

Oooo an Elmo book!

A learn to cut set from Santa, but Anna was determined to use scissors rather than the safe wooden knife it came with.

Anna using her new tool set to help Daddy open her Potty, which she wants nothing to do with.

An awesome easel from Aunt Aimee and Uncle Chris,

And to finish the day off, a nice walk on the beach. Love NC weather.

Mind of her own

Will post about Christmas and our Florida trip later today, but first, Anna's breakfast story...

We were indulging in cinnamon buns on the couch this morning as a New Years Day treat. Anna had her plate all cut up, Greg and I had ours. Anna wanted some of Greg's cinnamon bun but we told her not until your plate is all gone, then you can have more. So Anna takes her 7 cut up pieces of cinnamon bun and transfers them 1 by 1 to my empty plate. She then takes her plate over the Greg and asks for more please. Greg looks at me and says, "She ate ALL of that that quick", I whispered to him what she did and he laughed, so he gave he a piece of his cinnamon bun. Well after she has Greg's piece on her plate, Anna comes back over to my plate, grabs all 7 cut-up pieces in a fist full and puts them back onto her plate. Then she was happy. She had her original pieces and her new piece from Greg all by following the directions and not whining.

It's just amazing to watch these little people begin to process and figure out problems.
