OK, where to start....we're driving home from work on Friday and Aunt Aimee calls, we chat for about 10 minutes about the upcoming weekend and what we're doing for Anna's party. We get off the phone, drive the rest of the way home, pull into the driveway and I see these 2 people running across the lawn, I think to myself, seriously? why are teenagers in our backyard...ugh! Only to find out it's AUNT AIMEE and UNCLE CHRIS! They surprised us by driving down for Anna's party. How cool!? Now the surprise gets even better, Mom and Dad don't know either! We're all excited, Greg gets home, I tell him there's a surprise but he can't find out until we get to the restaurant (where Aim & Chris are meeting us after dropping Kona off). We're hanging in the parking lot waiting for Mom to get there and up pull Aim & Christ. Dad and Greg have the same reaction, HOW COOL!. Then Mom pulls up 15 minutes later and she is blown away! We are all just so happy, we enjoy a nice long meal together at On the Boarder. Anna is lap hopping between Aunt Aimee and Uncle Chris. We head home and have a nice little ice cream cake for the princess and just hang for the rest of the night. So nice to just be together.
The next morning, it's party planning time! Chris helps Greg with the yard, they mowed, raked, put down pine straw, manual labor, not what Chris thought he'd be doing on his mini-vacation. Aum, Anna & I headed out to pick up the balloons and some remaining food items. Once we got home, it was chopping, mixing, baking, you name it, getting ready for the party. After a nice long nap for Anna, guests began to arrive. It was a great afternoon, after a little storm passed through we were able to hang outside, enjoy yummy food brought by everyone, open presents, and be thankful for the people in our lives. Anna had a great time, very well behaved. This morning she says, "Anna birthday over". So sad, but true. It was a great 2 day event, never to be replaced.
Here the birthday girl is ready to eat some cupcakes!
Daddy helping her light her 2 candles. When we all sang, she wasn't too fond of it. I think it was the amount of people. Once we were done she didn't want anything to do withe blowing out her candles, just wanted to eat. (Side note: earlier that morning I found hr in my closet, sitting on a chair with a handful of candles in her lap, she was taking each candle one by one blowing on it and then throwing it on the floor - practicing for later that day, too bad she didn't want to do it)
We made chicks, pigs and sheep cupcakes!
Many presents for Anna, what a lucky girl! Here is her new sand toy set and Daddy helping her open bubbles. She also received books, super summer clothes, a Children's Museum day with Mommy and Daddy, a tea set, a subscription to High Five a magazine perfect for toddlers, and tons of other things. Lucky lucky girl.
Here's why Mommy and Daddy had to do a lot of the present opening....she just wanted to eat cupcakes!
Loving on some Uncle Chris & Aunt Aimee
Super cook present from Aunt Aimee and Uncle Christ. Now Mommy just needs to bring some some paint and we can begin to decorate it.
Happy Birthday to our favorite 2 year old in the world!!!!
