I like looking back at the blog to see what we were doing/wondering about/worried about with Anna and then what we're doing now with Quinn...

  • LOVES her hands and sicks, gnaws, drools all over them all day long
  • She can roll over from her tummy to her back, but not the other way
  • Will sleep with someone on her belly

Quinn @ 4 mo:

  • Bassinett is LONG gone, Quinn was in his crib around 10 lbs
  • LOVES his hands too & actually, like other peoples hands better

Oh Anna

This morning around 6:45 Quinn started to fuss but I just stayed in bed hoping he would fall back to sleep. Anna was on the couch watching cartoons, I guess she didn't want to hear the fussing so she went into his room, fixed his leg (they are always stuck between the bars), told him to go back to sleep and walked out and shut the door, and back to the couch she went. HA! Needless to say, he didn't go back to sleep after the door was slammed and Anna probably shoved his foot back onto the mattress, we were then all up. :)

Earlier in the week, we were talking about Aunt Lynne and Uncle Jim coming to visit and I told Anna that Aunt Lynne was Pop's sister, she took it all in. Later in the week, we started talking about the fun weekend we were going to have and Anna says, "What's the mans name again?" I said, Uncle Jim. "Oh, OK. And what's that baby sisters name?" I said, Aunt Lynne, but she's not Pop's baby sister, she's a grown lady like Grandma. "Oh......"  - When I told Anna that Pop's sister was coming she thought that his sister was a baby just like her brother is a baby. She wasn't too happy to learn that Aunt Lynne wasn't a baby sister, but nonetheless, still excited to see them. But thanks to Hurricane Sandy, they have changed their plans and we will not begetting to visit with them. :(

4 Months

Quinny's 4 months! We went to the doctor on Wednesday and he weighed a whopping 14 lbs, just like a Thanksgiving turkey! He is 24 inches long and perfectly healthy. Doc said to start some food when he hits 6 months but for now he's OK with breast milk.
  • He LOVES to be held and squeals like a pig when put down.
  • He's not so much of a fan of the lamb chair now, he'd rather be in the bumbo upright
  • We need to get the jumperoo out so he can begin to bounce.
  • The minute you put him in his crib, it's right onto his belly.
  • He awakes in the night mainly because his feet get stuck between the bars because he likes to sleep right up against the side of the crib
  • Clothes need to be changed 3+ times a day due to drool
  • Spit up KING!
  • Sucks 2 fingers not his thumb
  • Beginning to reach for things and snuggle it all over his face
  • Looks like he's storing acorns in his cheeks
  • Nickname: Handsome Hank
  • We got to make a school project for Quinn this week, our first school project ever! Miss Melissa gave up a scrapbook paper square and we had to decorate it as a family. We wrote Quinn's name in glitter, glued on pictures, and Anna colored all over with marker. Will take a picture when Melissa puts it all up.

Anna ready for school  - Monday morning, pitch black out & freezing!

Quinn not happy, put me back in my bed!

Last weekend Aunt Aimee and Uncle Chris brought over some fun! All the fix-ins for caramel apples, super fun & yummy! We love having them here now....

Anna's favorite part of the week....Pop day! We patiently wait for Wednesday or Thursday to come each week, waiting for Pop to visit.

And our lovely Anna...
  • On the way home today, "Mommy, these cars are bad drivers"
  • Anna who were you sitting next to on the carpet? "Max...and Conner and Cohen" Oh, do you play with any girls? "No, only the boys"
  • We are beginning to correct Anna's grammar but some things I just want to keep forever, instead of Thanks Anna says "Nanks" - my favorite
We are getting ready for Halloween this week - I think Anna is actually going to dress up, that is if we can find a fairy costume, we are going on a hunt tomorrow for one. We also are going to make treats for Anna's class Halloween party, she is super excited. We are bringing fruit and these, yum!  After school, we're going to meet Jamie, Donna & Jake for some trick or treating & pizza dinner, should be a busy evening!

Best weekend

Super weekend... Straight to the beach Friday after work all the way through Sunday afternoon.

Swimming with anyone that would take her in. Running down the beach naked. Collecting shells. Catching fish in her beach hat. Naps with daddy. Dinner straight from the boat. Snuggles with Pop. Sunrises. Great family time.

Halloween

Ok so cool I just downloaded blogger for my phone so I can post more often and much easier than hooking up the camera each time I want to upload pictures, so lets give this a try.

Anna is actually excited about Halloween this year...we are very excited. But we are still working on a costume. First we tried on the cow from last year she liked it but it was too small. We went to target and found a cute Minnie Mouse outfit but when we got home that was too small too. This weekend we returned Minnie and bought a green fairy costume... Got home and it was too big! GRR. That got returned too. So now we are back at square one, trying to find a costume. We have a bright pink pumpkin to carry all her candy that Greg is excited to eat and Anna knows just what to do except that she keeps on asking "can we please go to October?" I tell her we are in October but it just confuses her more. Maybe next year we shouldn't start talking about Halloween until late October.

Quincy's going to be a handsome 4 month old. :)

October

Hello there....life with 2 kids is a big difference. Every day I tell myself that I'm going to sit down and blog so I can keep all our memories on here but as soon as the last one falls asleep, Greg and I are right behind them. Right now, Quinn doesn't want to be put down during the day, wants to be held all day long, but when it comes to bed time, he's a champ. Anna on the other hand, is a great helper all day long but when it comes to bed time, it absolutely terrible. We've hit some kind of stage where it's at least 10+ times out of bed before she stays in. We've started bath at 6:30 now and start laying down at 7:00 so she can actually fall asleep at a decent time. Greg and I are good at taking turns meeting her at the door and turning her right back around and into her bed. She is very good at coming up with excuses, tonight it was, "My chin hurts" Who knows!

Quinn is rolling over all the time and this is how he falls asleep if left in a chair, today he was trying to eat that lamb ear. If he's in his crib, he's flipped the minute I lay him down.

Here's Quinny's room....much like Anna's, we took the pink birds off the tree, moved the dresser out of the closet, added the stick letters for his name and the recliner. Hopefully for Christmas, his first, we can make him a toy box like we did for Anna.

Here's the bugger sleeping....

And the princess....
will only wear dresses. After we finished the wash tonight I had to secretly fold up all her dresses and stash them away in her closet. It's getting chilly this week, and by chilly I mean mid-high 60's, and dresses are just not going to cut it. Also, it's a fit every morning because she doesn't have that many and just wants to continually wear them. Nanny  bought her so many cute fall clothes that I'm determined to begin wearing them, so dresses be gone! We went out last weekend to do errands and on the way we stopped to get bagels for breakfast, when we asked Anna what type of bagel she wanted she said, "the one with sprinkles"...funny girl, thinking she was getting a donut! When we finally convinced her that we were getting bagels and not donuts, we asked her what she wanted on her bagel and she said, "cream please". Love toddler talk.
